International Collegiate Licensing Association

ICLA Opens 2025 Board Applications

CLEVELAND – As the International Collegiate Licensing Association (ICLA) continues to expand opportunities as a year-round resource for collegiate licensing professionals, the ICLA Board of Directors is seeking outstanding professionals to be considered for leadership positions.

ICLA is looking to fill one (1) Board position, which could be an institutional position or an affiliate position. The current Board of Directors consists of individuals representing various member types, conference affiliations, position levels, and geographical regions. All who meet the criteria and who feel that they can fulfill the commitment are welcome to apply.

To apply for the Board, please complete the application/nomination form. Applications/Nominations will be accepted until Friday, February 28, 2025.

The ICLA Board commitment is a minimum of four (4) years, and, for licensing directors who become officers, it could potentially become up to a nine-year commitment. This new Board member's term will begin in June 2025 and conclude in June 2029 unless that member becomes an officer, which is an additional five-year commitment. Board members must be able to attend the two yearly in-person Board meetings (one at the Winter Symposium and one at the summer Convention, in which financial assistance may be given) or virtual if ICLA decides not to meet in person, and also monthly Board conference calls along with specifically assigned committee calls.

At the completion of the application/nomination process, the ICLA Board will review ALL candidates prior to releasing the ballot to the voting members. A ballot will then be distributed to the voting membership, which includes the primary member of each college/university membership.

Criteria:
- Candidates must work in the collegiate licensing industry for an institution or affiliate company.
- Candidates should bring unique viewpoints, experiences, and ideas and represent a diverse background from the collegiate licensing community.

Commitment:
The ICLA Board of Directors and Officers are not your traditional advisory Board. It is an active, working Board that, along with the NACDA National Office staff, strives to achieve ICLA's mission to promote and enhance the collegiate licensing industry through education and development of its professionals. Each Board member serves as a chair or co-chair of one of ICLA's committees or initiatives. Each committee is directly responsible for designing programming specific to targeted membership areas or implementing particular initiatives. Those committees/responsibilities may include:

- Awards
- Convention Planning
- Education - Benchmarking
- Education - Licensing Resource Book
- Education - Webinars/Zoom
- Leadership - Association Administration
- Leadership - Board Development
- Membership Development
- Mentorship Program
- Sponsorship
- Strategic Communications
- Strategic Planning
- Winter Symposium Planning

As mentioned above, Board members are required to attend the two yearly in-person Board meetings and attend monthly Board calls. For more information, see the Leadership Structure and Expectations Guide.

Any interested candidates seeking more information are encouraged to reach out to ICLA Past President, Dexter LaMont (dlamont@fau.edu), or any of the current Board members. Any questions regarding the Board selection process may be directed to ICLA Manager, Nick Strah (nstrah@nacda.com) in the NACDA Office.
