CLEVELAND -Â As the premier professional development organization for diverse athletics administrators and allies who champion inclusion, theÂ
Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) is currently seeking candidates for leadership positions on its Board of Directors for the 2025-26 membership year.Â
There will be six positions open for the Board of Directors.
As a member of the Board of Directors, an individual will assist with several duties to uphold the Association's mission of providing member services that address the needs of minorities professionally, emotionally, financially and physically in athletics.
These duties include, but are not limited to: the planning and implementation of the annual Symposium, which is held in conjunction with NACDA & Affiliates Convention week; active participation on monthly or bi-monthly conference calls to discuss the advancement of the Association and development of additional educational opportunities for the membership; potential service on various committees; attendance at one or two in-person Board meetings per year; and any other duties assigned by the MOAA President or Board of Directors.
The selection process will involve a review of candidates by the current Board of Directors during its January Board meeting.
When reviewing candidates, consideration will be given to the following areas:
- Conference Affiliation
- Geographic Location
- Gender
- Race/Ethnicity
- Divisional Affiliation
- Representation for the 2025-26 Board appointments includes the following breakdown (based on our current Board structure, NCAA Division II and III have appropriate representation):
- Six (6) individuals representing the following groups may be selected:
- FBS
- FCS
- NAIA
- Division II
- Division III and/or
- Junior/Community College
- Previous involvement in MOAA
- Ability to dedicate the necessary amount of time to serving on the Board
- YOU MUST BE a MOAA dues paying member in order to serve on the Board
